A Windows® based computer with custom on-board data acquisition electronics and pre-loaded with the user-friendly COPAS software is included with every system to provide a dedicated workstation for the analysis, sorting and dispensing processes. Users may then transport data or access data over an existing network for further post-run analysis. Researchers may create, store and retrieve specific assay files and experimental results using the COPAS software.

The COPAS software controls the loading of objects into wells and the ability to define the numbers of objects dispensed into each well of a 24, 48 or 96-well plates. Selection criteria such as size range, optical density, and/or level of fluorescence intensity are user selectable.
Several optional software modules are available to expand your COPAS software. Please refer to the Options section for a detailed description of:
Raw data collected from the analysis is stored both as a text file and in a format compatible with most flow cytometry software, such as WinMDI and FCS Express. The COPAS software interfaces to common industry analysis tools such as Spotfire's DecisionSite and IDBS's ActivityBase for collection, tracking, analysis and storage of the raw data.
The numerical raw data can be easily imported into various analysis programs, including commonly used spreadsheet programs, to allow for the testing of complex analytical questions and the use of statistics to address subtle biological observations as well as to strengthen conclusions from the numerical data.
