OPTIONS A variety of optional hardware and software modules are available to add specific enhanced capabilities to the COPAS system. Some options are available only on specific COPAS instruments.
REFLX SAMPLER The ReFLx Sampler option provides enhanced sample analysis and handling capabilities. Designed for follow-up analysis of microtiter samples, this module provides additional hardware for the re-sampling of dispensed objects of interest from a 96 well microtiter plate for further analysis. The sampler will gently agitate and aspirate samples into the COPAS instrument flow cell for analysis. The samples being analyzed can be dispensed into a new 96 well microtiter plate. ADVANCED ACQUISITION PACKAGE Advanced Acquisition Package option provides users enhanced analytical tools and increased COPAS instrument sensitivity. The AAP includes both software and hardware components and can be added to most installed COPAS systems in the field. This package offers users: increased data resolution, object flow, and acquisition rates; 3 times the current scan rate; improved data displays with linear and logarithmic scaling; improved fluorescence detection with the ability to apply fluorescence compensation; advanced real-time data manipulation to allow user-defined mathematical functions to be applied to object data; extended sorting / dispensing capabilities with user definable sorting regions using logarithmic scales, fluorescent compensation, object coincidence controls, and real-time mathematical functions. PROFILER II Profiler II option provides simultaneous recording of 4 optical parameters (three fluorescence, one extinction), resulting in the ability to detect and graphically display variations in optical intensity along the length of an object. A Profile is a way of analyzing individual objects detected by the COPAS by slicing each object into many thin sections along the length of the object. Each “slice” is then assigned a numerical value that corresponds to the optical intensity of that section as detected by each of the Profiler channels (Ext, FLU1, FLU2 and FLU3). The result is the ability to detect and graphically display variations in optical intensity along the length of each object. The Profiler II includes the Advanced Acquisition Package, which consists of both software and hardware components that can be added to most installed COPAS systems in the field. This package offers users: up to 8000 points of data per object per channel recorded; extended sorting abilities with user definable sorting regions including profile peak heights, widths, locations, and numbers for each channel; and independent channel scaling. Download Advanced Acquisition and Profiler II Product presentation MICROPLATE HANDLER INTEGRATION SOFTWARE The Integration Software Option offers end-user integration of the COPAS System with Calliper/Zymark and/or Hudson Plate Crane Microplate Handlers, which automate the movement of microplates to and from the COPAS instrument. Plate handler products may be purchased directly from manufacturers. REAGENTS & CONTROLS Union Biometrica offers a range of sheath reagents, cleaning reagent, and control particles that have been specially formulated to achieve optimal instrument performance.
